Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Manager to lead the technical delivery and coordination of major metro projects across the Middle East. The role will be responsible for ensuring design excellence, technical compliance, and integration across multidisciplinary teams for complex rail infrastructure programs.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Metro Stations, & Rail systems and a strong track record delivering large-scale projects in the region.

Your role

Technical Leadership

  • Lead and oversee the technical design and engineering delivery of rail projects.
  • Ensure alignment with international standards (e.g., EN, IEC, AREMA) and local authority requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance across multiple disciplines including:
  • Metro Stations (Arch, Civil, Structural, MEP)
  • Track & alignment
  • Rolling stock
  • Signaling & telecoms
  • Power supply (traction & non-traction)
  • Systems integration

Design & Delivery Management

  • Manage multi-disciplinary design teams across different project phases (concept, preliminary, detailed design).
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering outputs.
  • Conduct and lead technical reviews, design assurance, and value engineering.
  • Oversee interface management between civil, systems, and operational elements.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Act as the technical point of contact for clients, authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Engage with government bodies, transport authorities, and operators in the Middle East.
  • Support presentations, technical workshops, and approvals.

Project & Commercial Support

  • Support bid and proposal development, including technical input and strategy.
  • Contribute to risk management, budgeting, and planning.
  • Ensure technical scope is delivered within cost, quality, and programme constraints.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and technical teams.
  • Foster collaboration across regional and global teams.
  • Drive a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

About you

Experience

  • 18+ years of experience in rail/metro/transport infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in leading technical delivery on large-scale rail projects.
  • Strong experience in the Middle East (UAE, KSA, Qatar, etc.) preferred.
  • Background in consulting, EPC, or client-side organisations.

Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of below -

  • Metro Stations
  • Rail systems engineering & integration
  • Rail design standards and safety requirements
  • Design assurance and technical governance
  • Experience working on projects such as:
  • Metro systems
  • High-speed rail
  • Light rail transit (LRT)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related)
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Professional certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PMP) is an advantage
