Overview

We are seeking an experienced Surveyor with strong exposure to metro and rail infrastructure projects. The role involves supporting construction activities across stations, depots, track alignment, viaducts, tunnels, and associated civil works by ensuring accurate surveying, setting-out, and as-built documentation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Resident Engineer, contractors, and client teams to ensure compliance with design, safety, quality standards, and project schedules.

Your role

  • Verify contractor setting-out, elevations, alignment, and all related survey works to ensure compliance with approved metro design drawings and specifications.
  • Advise the Resident Engineer on survey-related matters and recommend corrective actions where discrepancies are identified.
  • Maintain construction survey records, control points, and quantity records in accordance with Resident Engineer instructions.
  • Perform baseline, control, and geodetic surveys, including the establishment and maintenance of benchmarks, reference points, and control networks for metro works.
  • Attend contractor survey requests, including verification of setting-out for track centerlines, stations, viaduct piers, retaining walls, tunnels, utility corridors, and depot facilities.
  • Check field measurement surveys such as original and final cross-sections, critical elevations, clearances, dimensions, and locations of structural elements, earthworks, pavements, and rail-related infrastructure.
  • Review contractor advance surveys prior to construction activities and investigate, resolve, and document survey discrepancies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of standard procedures for quantity measurement, calculations, and documentation.
  • Ensure proper calibration, verification, and maintenance of survey instruments including total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
  • Support as-built surveys and final documentation in coordination with the Resident Engineer, land surveyors, and inspectors.
  • Carry out land, field, and geodetic calculations related to metro alignments, curvature, gradients, and control points.
  • Interface with client representatives and contractors to define, confirm, and validate survey requirements specific to metro construction.
  • Deliver surveying activities within agreed timelines, man-hour allocations, and cost budgets.
  • Verify setting-out, levels, and underground/overhead services locations, ensuring protection and compliance with interface requirements.
  • Prepare sketches and documentation to support fieldwork and maintain accurate survey records, including field books, sketches, and digital data.
  • Measure completed works when required for interim and final quantity assessments.
  • Adhere strictly to site safety procedures, particularly within live rail or metro construction environments.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of as-built drawings for metro stations, trackworks, structures, and utilities.
  • Actively participate in health, safety, and environmental initiatives as directed by the Resident Engineer and Project Safety Representative.
  • Perform any other duties relevant to the successful delivery of the metro project.
