How I became a top apprentice at AtkinsRéalis Brazil

I'm sharing how I grew, thrived, and found my place at AtkinsRéalis. I hope it helps you too!

Hello, I'm Ana – I joined AtkinsRéalis Brazil as a young apprentice just over a year ago. I'm currently working as an assistant administrator – and I recently won the Top Apprentice Award at CDL‑BH Foundation's Aprendiz Nota 10!

But before I get to that, let's take a step back to...Why I chose to start my career at AtkinsRéalis

Ana

I felt – and still feel – that there is a really bright future for me here. AtkinsRéalis is an engineering services and nuclear organization – but it's also global! So, there are, truly, endless opportunities here. In short, I chose AtkinsRéalis because of its potential and reputation.

Starting your career with us

How AtkinsRéalis supports and develops new apprentices

If you're as shy as I am, you can imagine how I felt walking into my first day at such a big organization. But nothing was going to stop me from growing. Everyone was welcoming and always ready to help. Once I realized I didn't need to be afraid to ask, I went from feeling unproductive to staying busy and keen to take on anything. All it took was volunteering for tasks or showing interest in something new. After my first fully‑focused activity, prioritizing important tasks came naturally.

How I was recognized for my work at AtkinsRéalis

When I became a young apprentice, I always thought that I would never be noticed within the organization. But I thrived. I excelled in performance evaluations and was selected for our AtkinsRéalis 2024 Brazil Excellence Award, winning in the Top Young Talent category. It meant a lot because I realized that my effort and dedication had been recognized. It was very gratifying, and I felt that everything I had put in had led to that moment and was worth it.

What the Aprendiz Nota 10 Top Apprentice Award means

This brings me back to my Aprendiz Nota 10 Top Apprentice Award this February. The award celebrates apprentices in the Education & Work Program (Programa Educação e Trabalho) who show real commitment, professionalism, and growth. I was so happy and honored to learn that I had been acknowledged. I must admit I got very emotional. I was so proud that my dedication, persistence, creativity, commitment, and efforts had led me to win such a meaningful award. This is a moment of celebration for all of us. It demonstrates how, through excellence, support and belonging, we're raising the next generation to help shape a better future.
