When Vanishree joined AtkinsRéalis, she stepped in eager to learn and grow. Today, as a Senior Landscape Architect, she reflects on a journey shaped by inspiring projects, supportive colleagues, and continuous opportunities to develop her skills.
Working on projects such as the Equestrian Polo Club and Ora bayn has given Vanishree exposure to every stage of the design process, from early concepts through to detailed design and IFC delivery.
What I value most is the experience I gained beyond design itself. Working with clients, coordinating with different disciplines, and understanding how projects evolve from ideas into reality has helped me develop a much broader perspective.
Making a difference every day
For Vanishree, landscape architecture is about creating spaces that people can truly connect with. Through everyday design decisions, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and a focus on practical solutions, she helps shape environments that are functional, welcoming, and meaningful for the communities that use them.
Growing through challenge
One project that had a lasting impact on Vanishree's career was the Equestrian Polo Club, her very first project at AtkinsRéalis. The scale and complexity of the project challenged her from day one, but it also became one of her greatest learning experiences. It strengthened her understanding of project delivery, design coordination, and stakeholder collaboration, while building the confidence she carries into her work today.
A career defined by progress
Since joining, Vanishree has progressed to Landscape Architect II and now Senior Landscape Architect. With each step, she has taken on greater ownership, expanded her responsibilities, and developed a stronger understanding of the complete project lifecycle.
My growth hasn't just been about moving into a senior role. It's about becoming more confident, taking ownership, and understanding projects from a broader perspective.
Support that makes a difference
A key part of Vanishree's journey has been the people around her. She credits her managers, mentors, and colleagues for creating an environment where questions are welcomed, guidance is readily available, and growth is actively encouraged. Whether navigating project challenges or taking on new responsibilities, she has always felt supported. That support extends beyond work too. From flexibility during personal circumstances to wellbeing initiatives such as Wellness Wednesdays, yoga sessions, and fitness activities, here is a culture that values both professional and personal wellbeing.
Finding your place
Looking back, one of Vanishree's biggest surprises was how quickly she felt at home.
What stood out to me was the willingness of people to help, share knowledge, and encourage growth. The supportive culture made a real difference to my confidence and development.
