From Design Manager to digital innovator: Building meaningful impact at Atkinsréalis 

When Mohana joined AtkinsRéalis, her career was rooted in design management. Over time, she discovered a passion for BIM and digital delivery, leading her to become a Lead BIM Landscape Architect. This journey allowed her to combine creative design thinking with technology‑driven solutions, helping deliver projects more efficiently and collaboratively. 

One project that stands out is a major landscape and infrastructure project. Working across disciplines, Mohana coordinated BIM models, resolved design clashes, and supported seamless integration between landscape design and other project elements. Seeing coordination translate into improved efficiency, stronger collaboration, and successful delivery was incredibly rewarding. It reinforced how digital expertise can create tangible value for teams and clients alike.

My career path is not the one I originally expected.  Coming from a Design Manager background, Mohana anticipated staying focused on coordination and project management. Instead, exposure to BIM processes sparked a new interest, opening doors to digital delivery and multidisciplinary collaboration. AtkinsRéalis provided the opportunities, support, and flexibility to develop new capabilities and confidently embrace a different direction. That experience strengthened her belief that development is something employees can actively shape. By taking on new responsibilities, learning continuously, and working alongside experienced colleagues, I have expanded both my technical expertise and leadership perspective. The ability to explore new career paths while building on existing strengths has been one of the most valuable parts of her journey here.
