Why now is a good time to join AtkinsRéalis?

If you’re considering your next career move, here’s what the numbers say about where AtkinsRéalis is heading- and what that means for you.

The business is growing, and it’s growing fast

AtkinsRéalis ended 2025 with total revenue of $11 billion, up 14% on the previous year. The engineering services division (the part of the business where most of our people work) grew by 16% organically. That’s not acquisition‑led growth. That’s existing teams winning more work, taking on bigger projects, and expanding into new markets.

What does that mean in practice? More projects. More variety. More opportunity to work on things that didn’t exist a year ago.

A record pipeline of work ahead

The company’s total backlog (the work we’ve already won but haven’t yet delivered) hit $21.2 billion at the end of 2025. That’s a record, and it’s up over 22% on the year before.

For engineers, project managers, designers, and technical specialists, a growing backlog means job security, yes- but it also means choice. When there’s more work than people, you get more say in what you work on, where you work, and how your career develops.

Nuclear is surging

AtkinsRéalis is one of the world’s leading nuclear engineering organisations, and this part of the business is growing faster than almost any other. Nuclear new build, reactor life extension, decommissioning, and small modular reactor programmes across the UK, Canada, and internationally are all expanding.

If you’ve ever wanted to work at the intersection of clean energy, complex engineering, and national infrastructure- this is where it’s happening.

Global reach, local impact

With offices across the UK, North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia, AtkinsRéalis operates in more than 40 countries. But the work isn’t abstract or distant- it’s designing the water systems communities rely on, building the transport networks cities need, decarbonising the energy grid, and protecting coastlines from climate change.

The growth means we’re hiring across water, nuclear, power and energy, transportation, defence, and digital- in established markets and in new ones.

What this means for your career

Growth creates opportunity. When a business is expanding at this pace, careers move faster. People step into bigger roles sooner. New teams form around new challenges. And the variety of work available to any one person widens significantly.

Our people regularly tell us that the breadth of what they can do here- across disciplines, projects, and geographies- is what keeps them. When we asked employees recently what they’d tell someone considering joining, the same phrase kept coming up: “Your career here is what you make of it.”

If you’re looking for a place where the work matters, the pipeline is strong, and your career has room to grow- now is a good time to have that conversation.
