Building Surveying

Degree requirements: Minimum 2.2 Bachelor’s (BSc Hons) degree in Building Surveying accredited with RICS

Typical locations: Leeds, Manchester (Please note location availability may vary by team and during the campaign in line with application volumes and business needs. If your preferred options are not available, we encourage you to select an alternative.)

As a Graduate Building Surveyor within AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure business, you’ll have the joint benefit of working in a specialist Building Surveying team and also as part of a wider multi-disciplinary environment to deliver a full suite of Building Surveying services. We offer unique and extremely varied work with a large number of high-profile public and private sector clients. This blend of work and along with our in-house property professionals will allow you develop and expand in your role and ultimately help you gain your Chartership with the RICS.

We understand the APC and have a proven track record in mentoring our candidates through their structured training programme to achieve their goal of Chartership. We provide a supportive environment to our candidates and provide Continued Professional Development that exceeds the RICS requirements. You’ll gain real experience once you’ve completed your structured induction.

Working at AtkinsRéalis as a graduate Building Surveyor will give you the unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects from inception all the way through to completion seeing projects through the complete design and project life cycle interspersed with the provision of professional services ranging from condition surveys, pre-acquisition surveys, party wall work, building pathology and much more.

Key activities will begin with you supporting senior building surveyors, to gain the relevant experience required of our mentoring programme, and within a short time frame you’ll be:

  • Delivering building surveying services, such as design, condition surveys, party wall advice, and pre and post construction services for projects for such as refurbishments, renovations, extensions and planned works
  • Providing studies and reports for our clients e.g. feasibility studies, costing advice, defect diagnosis, legal regulatory advice related to property matters
  • Supporting on repair, maintenance or restoration and low carbon and Net Zero schemes
