Overview
Join our Total Rewards team and play a key role in shaping our retirement and savings programs! As an Advisor, Pension and Share Plans, you will help ensure smooth administration and governance of all Canadian pension and savings programs.
In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams such as payroll, HR and Finance, Total Rewards leadership, external suppliers, and work closely with the Technician, Pension and Savings programs. This role provides exposure to global projects, such as pension and post-employment benefits accounting disclosure requirements, as well information required by the Board of Directors (the Board) with respect to the plans offered globally.

This role reports to the Director, Pension and Savings Plans.
Your role
Administration:
- Manages the day-to-day administration of some of the numerous Canadian pension plans. This includes ensuring compliance with legal requirements, collective bargaining agreements, communications with employees and HR business partners, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Prepares documentation for the pension committee meetings, investment management committees and the annual meeting of pension plan members, and acts as secretary of these committees.
- Supervises other pension activities together with members of the pension and savings plan team.
- Takes part in special projects related to pension plan design and strategy.
- Communicates with providers to monitor service, employees' requests, and other initiatives.
- Manage the Employee Share Ownership Program.
- Supervise the work of the Technician, Pension and Savings programs.
Global accounting disclosure for pension and post-employment benefits:
- Working closely with the Director, Pension and Savings Plans and the Vice-President Total Reward, manages the year-end accounting disclosure information including working with local representatives of ATRL to gather information for all pension plans, end-of-service benefits, and appropriate benefits plans. Works closely with the respective actuaries of the plans and the corporate finance team to ensure timely delivery of the required information to be published in the company's notes to the consolidated financial statements.
- Prepares quarterly accounting information of pension plans
- Participates in budget calculations and prepares pension required by the compensation team for the management proxy circular
- Supports the Director, Pension and Savings Plans by managing the Canadian fringe reporting and collaborates with the finance team on the delivery aspect of the project
Board:
- Prepares and coordinates with other global colleagues, required documentation on pension and benefits as requested periodically by the Board.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Develops effective working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders (including legal, corporate finance, payroll, tax, compensation, etc.) to ensure that all actions and communications comply with internal corporate governance guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
- Maintains our Intranet up-to-date.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance or equivalent.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in pension plans.
- Experience with unionized environments (an asset).
- MS Office Suite proficiency with advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Proven ability for teamwork.
- Self-starter with good organizational skills and professional curiosity.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Discretion.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English (spoken and written).
