Overview
You will provide technical and coordination support to environmental assessment, permitting, and community engagement projects across Canada as part of the Environmental Assessment & Community Engagement (EACE) group. This role supports project teams through desktop research, data compilation and QA/QC, report preparation and formatting, stakeholder and regulatory tracking, and development of environmental graphics and GIS-based outputs. The position is well suited to an early‑career professional seeking broad exposure to environmental assessment practice, regulatory processes, and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
The role aligns with the Global Technical Centre (GTC) model and works closely with project managers, technical specialists, and local regulatory leads while supporting multiple projects concurrently. It is part of the Global Technical Centre (GTC) and supports environmental assessment and community engagement functions across multiple Canadian regions and projects
Your role
- The Environmental Coordinator plays a vital role in project preparation and proposal support by assisting with scope clarification, task breakdowns, and the development of proposal content and appendices.
- Facilitating SharePoint and Teams project site setup, organizing documents, maintaining version control, and creating graphics, schedules, timelines, and workflow diagrams for proposals and client materials.
- The coordinator also supports stakeholder mapping and reviews regulatory pathways under the guidance of senior staff, ensuring a thorough understanding of project requirements from the outset.
- During project execution, the coordinator conducts desktop research to gather information on project backgrounds, regional contexts, regulatory frameworks, and precedent studies.
- They compile, quality check, and organize environmental datasets, track stakeholders, maintain engagement databases, and develop assessment tables and regulatory tracking tools.
- Additional tasks include preparing site visit reports, photo logs, digitizing field notes, and supporting permit applications.
- The coordinator also contributes to environmental management system documentation, auditing tasks, and due diligence activities as needed.
- In terms of data handling and reporting, the Coordinator aids in preparing environmental base maps and constraints mapping in conjunction with the GIS team, compiling data inputs for GIS teams, and managing metadata and symbology templates.
- They assist with QA/QC, trend analysis, and dashboard preparation, as well as producing visuals for reports and engagement materials.
- Reporting duties include drafting baseline sections, methodology descriptions, and appendices; formatting and proofreading technical documents; consolidating reviewer feedback; and maintaining report templates.
- As projects conclude, the coordinator helps with file organization, archiving, lessons learned documentation and provides general technical and administrative support to senior environmental practitioners and project managers.

- Post‑secondary education in a relevant environmental discipline.
- Strong written communication skills with attention to detail, formatting, and quality control.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); strong Excel skills considered an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities across concurrent projects.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow established procedures and quality standards.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
