Geotechnical Field Geologist

Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada

Our Geotechnical Team in Ontario is expanding and we are looking for a Field Geologist to join our team in Vaughan, Ontario. Geotechnical drilling experience from projects in the transportation and municipal sectors would be considered an asset.

This is a great opportunity for a G.I.T. or P.Geo. with good technical skills to work on exciting projects where they can make their mark and move their career forward. This role offers a hybrid work environment, growth potential and a good work-life balance.

Your role

  • Plan, coordinate and execute ground investigations for transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • Install and monitor geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Downhole inspections and testing such as packer, OTV/ATV.
  • Borehole log and sample review/selection.
  • Collaborate with teams to further technological and digital advancement.
  • Work on large projects with other groups such and Hydrogeological, Environmental and Geomatics and cross-train as required to achieve common goal.
  • Adhere to rules and procedures that ensure the health and safety of employees and the environment as well as the prevention of workplace incidents. Be proactive in improving HSE policies and procedures to mitigate hazards related to your work.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Geoscience or Geological Engineering and 2+ years of related experience and G.I.T'or P.Geo. designation.
  • Valid Ontario class G drivers license is a requirement.
  • Ability to work and travel throughout Ontario with the potential for out-of-province assignments.
  • Positive attitude and uncompromising commitment to health and safety.
  • A strong belief in ethics, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  • Self-motivated and a high level of energy.

Additional information

Expected compensation for this role is between $80,700 - $111,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
