Gestionnaire qualité/Quality Manager

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design- Construction Quality Manager to join our team in the Montreal office. The Design-Construction Quality Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the quality of design processes and outputs for our projects. This position requires a strong understanding of quality management principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Your role

  • Develop and implement Design/Construction Quality Management Plan for large design projects.
  • Ensure conformance with ISO 9001 standards and other relevant quality project requirements.
  • Development and implementation of quality orientation and training programs for the project team.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and assessments of project quality management system.
  • Identify and mitigate project quality risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate quality management into all phases of the project.
  • Provide training and support to project team on quality management system.
  • Document and report on quality performance metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the project team.
  • Take necessary actions to ensure the effective operation and continuous improvement of the Design/Construction Quality Management Plan and Design/Construction Quality Procedures.
  • Ensuring that relevant records are maintained and retained in accordance with the Quality Management Plans.
  • Assisting with the implementation Correction and, when applicable, Corrective Action in respect of non-conformities.
  • Review of Subcontractor Quality Management Plans for consistency with ISO 9001:2015 and the Quality Management Plans.
  • Development and input to regular management quality review meetings with management, including taking necessary actions to ensure effective operation and continuous improvement of the quality management system.
  • Promoting awareness of client requirements with respect to the project quality throughout the Project Team.
  • Participate in regular project coordination meetings.
  • Develop and maintain an Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) to ensure that design and construction activities comply with contractual, normative, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure traceability of inspections, validation of tests, and documentation of results to demonstrate compliance and support continuous improvement.

About you

  • University Degree or Diploma of Technology (civil, mechanical or electrical engineering preferred).
  • A minimum of ten to fifteen years of demonstrable quality assurance experience in engineering/construction of transit and/or infrastructure projects.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (e.g. ISO 9001 registered lead auditor) an asset.
  • Excellent working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard and familiarity with various industry codes, standards and regulations governing quality management, such as ISO 19650.
  • Experience in development of Quality Manuals, Quality System Procedures, Inspection and Test Plans etc.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Visio).
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud an asset.
  • SharePoint experience an asset.
  • Fully Bilingual French and English.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), leadership skills and the ability to work in a demanding multidisciplinary environment.
