Overview

A Civil Engineer plays a key role in supervising and monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and project deliverables. They oversee contractors, consultants, and subordinates, reviewing progress, shop drawings, RFIs, staffing levels, and inspection quality. The role demands strong technical oversight, coordination, and documentation to keep projects on track.

Your role

  • Monitor construction to make sure that work is being completed according to the contract requirements.
  • Identify areas where contractor performance or expected outcome varies from desired, proposes actions and coordinate with all parties to ensure that future outcome is in line with project deliverables.
  • Review construction progress and quality control.
  • Manage, supervise and monitor subordinates (Local Engineers / Civil).
  • Monitor response, quality, and timing from the consultants on technical site issues and requests including RFIs.
  • Monitor the information provided by the contractors on requests for information (RFIs).
  • Monitor the information provided by the contractors on shop drawing submittals.
  • Monitor response quality and timing from the consultants on shop drawing submittals.
  • Monitor the timing of submittals against schedule requirements.
  • Monitor the number of re-submittals required to obtain approval.
  • Monitor suitability and availability of drawings and other data to ensure the Contractor has the right information for the work in hand.
  • Monitor staffing levels and suitability of abilities for outstanding work items.
  • Monitor quality of product / information / coordination provided by the consultant.
  • Monitor the quality and timeliness of inspections carried out by the consultant.
  • Verify and maintain copies of Daily Report.
  • Monitor compliance with the approved coordinated method statements for carrying out the works.
  • Monitor the information provided by the contractors on shop drawing submittals.

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related.
  • Minimum 0-2 years' experience.
  • Extensive site experience in site supervision team.
  • Experience in Mega projects.
  • Working knowledge of conditions of contract.
