Intern – Materials Control (Summer 2026)

Montréal, Quebec, Canada

Reporting to the Materials Department Coordinator, this internship offers an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic field of materials engineering. As a key member of our Montréal team, you will actively contribute to the continued growth of our department across Québec. This role will allow you to gain valuable hands-on experience while participating in innovative projects that shape the future of our organization.

Your Role

As a Materials Quality Control Intern, you will play an active role in ensuring project success by:

  • Verifying compliance of materials (aggregate, concrete, asphalt, and related materials) used on-site.
  • Performing quality control tests on-site for cement concrete (air content, slump, temperature, etc.), granular materials (compaction, excavation base validation, etc.), and asphalt mixes (compaction, temperature, joints, application rate, etc.).
  • Reporting any material implementation discrepancies through non-conformance memos and preparing site reports for each intervention.
  • Collaborating with the technical project team to ensure follow-up on site requirements.
  • Calibrating field equipment to guarantee accuracy of measurements and results.
  • Applying health, safety, and environmental protection measures.

About You

  • Currently enrolled in a DEC in Civil Engineering, Forestry, Mineral Processing, or Metallurgy.
  • Good knowledge of French.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • ASP Construction card, an asset.
  • ACI certification, an asset.
  • Ability to lift loads up to 25 kg.
  • Availability to work various shifts (day/evening/night/weekends).
  • Willingness to work on remote sites, an asset.
  • Valid driver's license at the start of employment.
  • Access to a personal vehicle (travel required and reimbursed per kilometer).
