Environmental Manager
Do you have the ambition, enthusiasm and technical capability to work with us as an Environmental Manager Our highly respected and successful Environmental Assessment & Community Engagement team has an ever-growing portfolio of work, built on technical excellence and exceptional service to our clients, with a particular need for support on our power and renewables projects. As a result, we are seeking a like-minded individual with at least 7 years relevant experience to join our growing team in British Columbia.
Our work includes delivering keystone projects throughout their lifecycle: from early assessment of constraints to strategic development of regulatory approvals processes, to environmental monitoring, and compliance management through construction and operations. Our team works collaboratively on projects to gain social acceptance and manage our clients' commitments to the environment and sustainable development.

As part of the wider Environment division, you'll be at the heart of the business with the opportunity to work alongside a variety of environmental and engineering professionals across BC, wider Canada, and our global regions.
This is an intermediate to senior level role and can be based out of our Vancouver office. Other office locations across BC will be considered.
Your role
Your day-to-day work will include the coordination of multiple environmental scopes of work, including identifying environmental and heritage risks, coordinating subject matter expert inputs to risk, preparation of monitoring reports and results interpretation against accepted standards, and provision of time-sensitive construction phase tasks where quick response times are critical.
- Oversee and/or complete project environmental obligations and deliverables according to contract terms and quality standards, including subconsultant and subcontractor management, as the Project Manager or Environmental Manager.
- Develop, prepare and maintain project/task schedules and budgets for the environmental component of projects, including monitoring project progress, work hours, budgets and expenditures using project scheduling and cost control tools. Effectively delegate tasks and activities to intermediate and junior staff and provide technical and possibly supervisory guidance.
- Oversee or prepare environmental permit applications and technical reports associated with regulatory approvals or compliance requirements.
- Assist or lead development of proposals and other business development related activities.
- Liaise with the client and support relationship management on behalf of, and as directed by clients with Project stakeholders, partners, agencies and Indigenous groups.
- Oversee or conduct field work, including environmental monitoring, field studies, research, and data collection.
- Support environmental compliance and management system auditing programs.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive environmental consulting experience, including construction-phase environmental management and regulatory permitting.
- Professional designation (Full or Provisional membership) with a regulatory body under the Professional Governance Act in British Columbia. Project management certification or eligibility (PMP or CAPM) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, permitting processes, and environmental management systems, supported by excellent communication skills and proven client and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental scopes of work, including budgeting, scheduling, regulatory approvals, compliance monitoring, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams. Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $91,000- $125,100 annually) (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
