As a Lead Architect, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality architectural solutions, leading coordination across disciplines, supporting technical excellence, and contributing to a well-integrated team that delivers world-class projects globally.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design development and coordination across disciplines including MEP, structural, landscape, and specialist sub-consultants.
  • Deliver coordinated design packages aligned with project requirements, global standards, quality benchmarks, and agreed programme expectations.
  • Interpret business, client, and project requirements to recommend appropriate technical solutions and challenge existing ways of working where improvement is possible.
  • Collaborate effectively with remote, cross-functional, and lead office teams to support integrated delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Support tender documentation, feasibility studies, design options, site-related queries, and project administration activities as required.
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement, client presentations, team coordination meetings, scope reviews, time estimates, and early identification of design risks or warnings.
  • Mentor junior team members by preparing clear mark-ups, reviewing outputs, developing sketches, and supporting capability development within the practice.

Technical & Delivery Capability

  • Strong architectural design and delivery experience within infrastructure, buildings, or multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Hands-on ability to independently develop early-stage design proposals, using relevant BIM, visualisation, and presentation software to test options, communicate ideas, and support design decision-making.
  • Advanced understanding of drawing information, drawing orientation, annotation, specification notes, approved documents, regulations, and design compliance requirements.
  • Ability to execute instructions and client mark-ups independently, produce coordinated drawing information, identify discrepancies, and check outputs prepared by junior team members.
  • Full understanding of RIBA Stages of Work, interdisciplinary coordination, consultant scopes, and the integration of discipline packages within project delivery.
  • Good knowledge of construction sequence, buildability, technical terminology, materials, suppliers, and product research to support design development and decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently, lead functional teams when required, and maintain effective professional relationships with project teams, consultants, and stakeholders.

Project Tools

  • Advanced Revit capability, including multidisciplinary model setup, workset management, clash coordination, design options, massing tools, parametric families, and keynoting workflows.
  • Proficiency in BIM and coordination tools such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk platforms; Autodesk certification preferred.
  • Awareness of Dynamo, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Enscape, and other visualisation or presentation tools.
  • Experience in AECOsim/OpenBuildings Designer and MicroStation is advantageous, particularly for infrastructure or multidisciplinary design environments.
  • Ability to use PowerPoint, InDesign, Illustrator, rendering tools, and other presentation software to communicate design ideas clearly with lead office and client teams.
  • Awareness of sustainability frameworks such as LEED and a willingness to enhance skills in emerging technologies and digital tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Arch. or M.Arch. qualification with 10+ years of relevant architectural design and delivery experience.
  • Established track record of delivering work to agreed time, quality, and technical requirements.
  • Maturity and professional confidence to represent the GDC in LPO forums under appropriate supervision.
