Plant C&I Maintenance Engineer

Overview

Are you someone with plant maintenance experience who loves delighting clients by helping them solve their problems in the asset management space and adapting to change? If that's'you, then we are waiting for you to join our Asset Management Team.

Our team within the nuclear business specialises in taking on some of the most significant engineering projects in the nuclear sector. Our business focuses on providing engineering services to the following key clients:


For EDF Energy in the UK and for Nawah Energy Company in the Middle East, Apart from the support that we extend to Nuclear New Builds, we help ensure the on-going safe, reliable, low carbon nuclear generation of their power stations, and for EDF Energy we are helping with preparations for safe and efficient defueling.

Finally, we also support other clients and parts of the AtkinsRéalis business covering the full lifecycle from new build through to deconstruction, defence, net zero energy projects to name a few.

The project opportunities we have are varied in size and therefore responsibility levels, from delivering our consultancy engineering services, to being embedded within the client organisation delivering their engineering projects and programmes. As such we are looking for an experience (5+ Years) Control & Instrumentation Maintenance professional.

Working within our Nuclear and Power business sector, as a Plant Maintenance Engineer you will work with teams to enable the delivery of AtkinsRéalis technical engineering projects or work directly for our key clients embedded into their major programmes.

Your role

  • Spare Planning, Inventory management
  • Hands on experience in maintenance of various field measurement devices such as Gauges, Transmitters, Switches, Indicators, and Controllers.
  • Experience in Maintenance of plant DCS, PLCs, Compact Controllers and HMI modules.
  • Should have knowledge on troubleshooting and calibration of field instrumentation and control devices.
  • Decisive knowledge on Ad-hoc troubleshooting
  • Should be aware of tools and techniques to be used as part of plant maintenance
  • Should have broad knowledge on maintenance specification (Kind of instructions to the contractor and prescribes the materials and workmanship requirements, etc.)
  • Experience in Maintaining various control systems / Engineering Stations and its redundancy systems.
  • Good experience in writing methodology of maintenance of equipment
  • Good experience in Asset management/Asset tagging
  • Should know the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) method of performing work.
  • Appreciate HSE as the highest priority.
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting C&I engineering documentation including wiring diagrams, P&IDs, instrument schematics, I/O lists, loop diagrams, cable schedules, and other relevant technical documents.
  • Hands‑on experience in developing maintenance-related documentation, such as surveillance/breakdown maintenance procedures, spare‑parts lists, maintenance policies, checklists etc.

About you

  • You hold a recognised engineering degree.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear safety classifications, Control & Instrumentation (C&I) philosophy in nuclear power plants, and applicable industry standards such as IEC, ISA, and related guidelines.
  • If you enjoy working alongside a team of maintenance professionals with decades of experience across Nuclear, Oil & Gas and manufacturing industries, is flexible to adapt to changes and are exceptionally well-organised in everything you do then we'd love to hear from you.
  • In this role you'll author complex maintenance documents and guide juniors with your industrial experience. You are expected to establish a rapport and build relationships with others, thereby being instrumental in producing quality deliverables and help win new or repeat work quickly and easily.
  • You'll love to motivate and inspire your team to make things happen.
