The System Assurance Lead will join the Safety & System Assurance group within the Rail, Transit Systems & Telecom Professional Organization. Reporting to the Director, you will play a critical leadership role on transit system projects in Alberta, supporting both planning and delivery phases.
In this role, you will work closely with external stakeholders, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that System Safety and RAM (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability) activities are effectively defined, coordinated, and integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
Your role
- Provide leadership and strategic oversight for Safety & System Assurance activities across rail infrastructure projects.
- Lead and mentor the System Assurance team, ensuring consistent application of best practices.
- Plan, manage, and deliver System Assurance activities during project planning and delivery phases.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage interfaces, risks, and assurance deliverables.
- Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of system-level risks throughout the project lifecycle.
About you
- Bachelor'S or Master's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in systems engineering and systems assurance, with a focus on large-scale rail infrastructure projects.
- Experience in leading teams of engineers.
- In depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and CENELEC.
- Holds a Professional Licence / Accreditation desirable e.g. P Eng (or equivalent).
