Overview
Reporting to the Materials Department Coordinator, the position of Quality Control Field Technician, Materials Engineering offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in the captivating field of materials engineering. As a key member of our team in Laval, the successful candidate will actively contribute to supporting the continuous growth of our department. This opportunity will allow you not only to gain valuable hands‑on experience, but also to participate in innovative projects that shape the future of our organization.
Your Role
As a Quality Control Field Technician, your role will be to actively contribute to the success of projects:
- Ensure the compliance of materials (aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other related materials) upon their arrival at the worksite.
- Perform on-site quality control tests on cement concrete (air content, slump, temperature, etc.), granular materials (compaction validation, excavation bases, etc.), asphalt mixes (compaction validation, temperature, joints, placement rate, etc.), and waterproofing work (roofing, foundation walls, bridges, etc.).
- Report any material installation deviations using non-conformity memos and prepare a field report for each intervention carried out.
- Collaborate with the project technical team by ensuring follow‑up on site needs.
- Calibrate field equipment to ensure accurate measurements and results.
- Apply health, safety, and environmental protection measures.

About You
- DEC in civil engineering, forestry, mineral processing, or metallurgy — or a Comparative Evaluation from the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration.
- Good knowledge of French.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Possession of the ASP Construction card.
- ACI certification, an asset.
- Ability to lift loads up to 25 kg.
- Availability to work various shifts (day/evening/night/weekend).
- Availability to work on remote worksites, an asset.
- Valid driver's license at the start date of employment.
- Access to a personal vehicle. Travel is required as part of the job and compensated per kilometer traveled.
