Overview

Water Management Consultancy (WMC) is a key part of the Infrastructure division within AtkinsRéalis' Water and Environment Business. Serving both UK and international clients, our projects span flood defence, hydraulic structures, ports, and maritime engineering. The WMC team brings together a diverse range of expertise, including river and coastal engineering, hydrology, hydraulics, dam engineering, hydraulic gates, and maritime engineering.

In this role, you'll be supporting the delivery of a variety of projects, with a particular emphasis on integrated water management. This includes hydrodynamic catchment modelling, water quality modelling, sustainable drainage, water-sensitive urban design, river restoration, water resource planning, climate change, software development, research, and client and stakeholder engagement. This opportunity is ideal for those seeking technical challenges and looking to contribute to advanced, industry-leading projects.

Your role

  • Support the team in collecting, organizing, and processing utility asset information from multiple sources.

  • Opportunity to work with flood management team on various software such as HEC RAS, FMP, TUFLOW, ICM.

  • Assist in maintaining and updating project databases and systems.

  • Perform basic data entry, validation, and quality checks.

  • Provide administrative and coordination support to project teams.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and communicate effectively with UK stakeholders where required.

  • Monitor assigned tasks and ensure timely completion under guidance.

  • Participate in training sessions and actively contribute to knowledge development.

  • Support ad-hoc activities and tasks as assigned by team leads or managers.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Master's'in Water resource engineering.

  • Basic proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.

  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive mindset.

  • Basic understanding of professional workplace etiquette.
