Why take your project management career to Saudi Arabia?

Project management can be an exciting career, especially in the building and construction space. But the level of challenge and excitement varies based on the projects you find yourself working on.

From innovative new cities to smart new infrastructure designs, without a doubt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is home to some of the most ambitious construction projects in the world. This offers project managers that operate in the area a great opportunity to develop their skills and experience whilst contributing to industry-changing projects.

Work on some of the most exciting projects in the world

Again, project management is only really as exciting as the projects you work on. This is why KSA is such a fantastic place to take your project management career. The area already offers opportunities to work on innovative, large-scale projects and has plenty more in the pipeline.

For example, KSA's Vision 2030 has outlined plans for major projects across the country to help guide the area away from dependency on the oil market. These projects are predicted to see $600 billion of investment, highlighting the scale of the changing landscape in this area.

Key projects include a large-scale tourism site (The Red Sea Project), a world-leading real estate development (ROSHN) and a new centre for living, business and leisure (NEOM).

NEOM will be home to The Line, an innovative living space consisting of a 170km belt of hyper-connected future communities, without cars and roads. This is just one of the exciting projects that AtkinsRéalis are involved with in the Middle East, alongside playing a crucial role in The Red Sea project, Jeddah Historic District and King Salman Park - to name a few.

Develop within high-performing teams

With mega projects like those planned within KSA come mega challenges. This makes the area an excellent place for those that want to develop their skills and fast-track their career. Project managers who get involved in these projects will work alongside some of the best talent and most ambitious professionals in the world.

Help build a more diverse, inclusive and productive culture in KSA

Saudi Arabia is undergoing a time of drastic change. Not just in their infrastructure, but also in terms of the way that the country thinks and acts. Diversity and inclusivity have become key topics in the country and those who chose to take their career to the area during this time will be sure to have an impact during this time of positive transformation.

This forward-thinking approach is also being applied directly to projects. For example, sustainability is a major theme that is found throughout Vision 2030, with projects such as The Line aiming to include no roads, cars or emissions, running on 200% renewable energy and with 95% of the land being preserved for nature.

AtkinsRéalis appointed as a delivery partner on The Line

The Line is a first-of-its-kind project which was announced as part of Vision 2030. The area is planned to eventually home 9 million residents in the area, whilst only taking up 34 square kilometres of land. True to its name, this innovative city follows a linear design, stretching over 170 kilometres in length whilst only being 200 meters wide. It will also run entirely on clean energy.

AtkinsRéalis has been awarded a 5-year contract to provide consultancy services throughout the development of The Line. This contract will be delivered in collaboration with NEOM and other organisations. The project will see project managers across AtkinsRéalis supporting its success.

Make an impact as a project manager in Saudi Arabia

If you want to get involved with The Line and other projects like it, you can apply for a job through AtkinsRéalis now. There is no better time to join an organisation which is at the forefront of development in KSA and other major infrastructure projects across the globe.
