Within the UK, we have a division who provide specialist consultancy services to the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology (ADS&T) markets. Serving key accounts across our Markets; from Critical National Infrastructure (Aviation, National Highways, Rail and Water) to Aerospace and Defence, Energy, Government, Security, Transport, Utilities, and more.

Within Applied Technology, a sub-practice of ADS&T, AtkinsRéalis has an experienced team of consultants who work with our clients to provide management and technical advice to help them achieve their digital transformation objectives. Our collective skill in supporting our specialised disciplines means we can deliver a holistic ownership in supporting solution design, applying best practice and appropriate frameworks to meet their requirements. Our success lies in a cohesive appetite for integration; working to define and align effective and evidenced based, business, technology, digital strategy, and transformation. We are diverse in our thoughts and challenge the status quo to truly understand the root of problems, utilising a range of techniques to support and guide clients to better understand their business, as well as work with them to advise and lead the business’ transformation to realise the benefit of digital.

As a Digital, Data & AI Consultant within Applied Technology, you will work on a variety of projects and roles across the breadth of our Markets, from business analysis to digital experience, digital strategy, and enterprise architecture, amongst many more. You will solve genuine business problems, applying a human touch, and utilising modern technology to solve some of society’s most challenging problems.

As part of our commitment to your holistic growth, we will develop your soft skills to operate as an effective consultant. Emphasising the importance of people and stakeholders, we will empower you to place them at the heart of your approach. Moreover, we will actively support the evolution of your digital specialisms, allowing you to apply your expertise to solve real-world problems, making a significant impact on your clients. Our consultants also help develop and grow our business. Through contributing to bids, developing new business propositions, and/or researching potential new markets.

The Digital Data & AI Consultant Graduate Programme:

During the programme you will embark on a series of rotations and alternative opportunities that will be transformative to your career. Throughout each opportunity, you will immerse yourself in diverse areas of Applied Technology, acquiring invaluable insights and hands-on experience. This approach is designed to broaden your possibilities, empowering you to become a versatile and skilled Digital, Data & AI Consultant. You will collaborate with clients to conceive, design, and execute business solutions that align with the demands of the new digital world, transform clients’ businesses across people, processes, and technology and address technology challenges using market-leading digital and emerging technologies.

We operate as T-shaped consultants meaning that primarily all members of the Digital, Data & AI Consultancy team, regardless of specialty, are wide-breadth consultants with people and stakeholder skills at the core. All Digital, Data & AI consultants will then have specific specialisms in Data, Security, Applications, Cyber and in this instance, Business Analysis, Strategy, Data Visualisation, and IT Architecture skills and experience.

Over the course of the Programme, you will benefit from dedicated training and development opportunities throughout your scheme. You will obtain techniques, methodologies, and frameworks to support you in your role as you develop your career path such as:

  • Technical Training: Opportunities such as APMG (Project Management), the BCS Business Analysis Diploma and the BCS RITTech (Registered IT Technician).
  • Chartership: The Digital Consultancy Graduate Programme sets the foundations for the BCS Chartered IT Professional (CITP) qualification.
  • Non-technical Training: Attending internal Early Career mandatory skills training and using our online Learning Portal to upskill and develop.
  • Enterprise Architecture: Design, plan, implement, and govern enterprise information technology and digital architecture using industry frameworks and become a certified Enterprise Architect.
  • Strategic Analysts: Explore the synergy of digital, data, and AI to shape smarter decisions, solve complex challenges, and become a trusted Strategic Analyst at AtkinsRéalis.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking individuals who have a genuine passion for making a difference through digitalisation and its potential to drive meaningful insights and solutions. A strong curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring innovative and new ideas through the implementation of digital is essential.

A technology evangelist, a problem solver, an innovator, someone who has:

  • An interest in digital trends, tools, and technologies (such as Process Automation and Business intelligence)
  • An ability to explore and interpret data to generate insights (experience in using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for data storytelling)
  • An understanding of KPIs, dashboards, or business intelligence concept
  • You should be excited to learn about data frameworks and how data is managed, structured and governed
  • A high-level of self-motivation, self-initiation, organisation, enthusiasm, and commitment
  • Consulting aptitude, knowledge of a variety of techniques and methods to capture, elaborate and demonstrate an understanding of the client’s challenges
  • Evidence of structured thinking, effective report writing and presentations, strong relationship management skills
  • Motivated to drive the design and delivery of solutions that realise positive outcomes for our client’s needs, proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence effectively across multiple media
  • Personable team player, confident to seek guidance where necessary but equally to work independently, adding expertise and value to projects in line with AtkinsRéalis’ ethics, values and business aims
