AtkinsRéalis is a recognised global consultancy business. Serving key accounts across our Markets; from Critical National Infrastructure (Aviation, National Highways, Rail and Water) to Aerospace and Defence, Energy, Government, Security, Transport, Utilities, and more.

Within Applied Technology, a sub-practice of ADS&T, AtkinsRéalis has an experienced team of multi-disciplined consultants, architects and engineers who work with our clients to provide management and technical advice to help them achieve their transformation objectives. The Data, AI & Technology Solutions team is home to a dynamic team of Software Engineers who craft bespoke software solutions for clients across Defence, Government, Infrastructure, and Industry sectors. We’re not just developers; we’re trusted consultants who build strong client relationships to deeply understand their needs and evolving environments.

Our work is hands-on and impactful: we spend most of our time writing code and delivering tailored solutions that solve real-world problems. We’re equally committed to your personal and professional growth. Alongside technical development, we’ll help you build the soft skills essential for effective consultancy. By placing relationship management at the core of your approach, you’ll be empowered to deliver solutions that truly make a difference.

Our solutions include:

  • Integrated Hardware and Software Solutions
  • Business Information Systems
  • Mission Critical Software
  • Geospatial Solutions and Data Visualisation Platforms
  • Algorithm Development and Decision Support Tools

Our engineers often collaborate with colleagues from across the AtkinsRéalis business to deliver a software solution in a specialised industry that is more than the sum of our parts. For example, Technology Solutions Software Engineers developed a Biometric Passenger Identification solution at Heathrow in collaboration with Security Experts, Passenger Experience Specialists and experienced Aviation Project Managers.

Most of our software solutions are web or desktop applications created using the Microsoft Stack (C# .NET, Visual Studio, Azure, DevOps) typically using Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), though we also work with PostgreSQL when appropriate. We also use Python, a wide variety of JavaScript frameworks and are flexible about picking up new languages and technologies when needed. We encourage test-driven development, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), source control with Git, and we work with cloud platforms like Azure Cloud and Amazon Web Services.
