Collaboration and opportunity

AtkinsRéalis' strength lies in being able to seamlessly pull together specialist multidisciplinary teams to meet the unique challenges faced in today’s society. Our AtkinsRéalis ‘One Future Strategy’ and our journey towards sustainable growth and our culture of collaboration ensures that we deploy the right talent, in the right place, at the right time.

We pride ourselves on the variety of projects our non-engineering graduates get to be a part of, including working on projects with Heathrow, East West Rail, and the Government.

The opportunities at AtkinsRéalis are endless. Take a look at our live opportunities and apply today.

I joined AtkinsRéalis after completing my degree in Project Management for Construction at UCL, where I took a year out for a placement, transforming my degree into a sandwich course. I wanted to find a company that matched my values and aspirations. AtkinsRéalis stood out for its passion for early careers and commitment to nurturing next-generation talent. I was given incredible opportunities to work on world-leading projects with a multidisciplinary team, making it an obvious choice to return after finishing my degree.

At AtkinsRéalis, I've seen firsthand the value of having a diverse project team. The mix of engineering and non-engineering perspectives brings innovative solutions to the table. This inclusive culture, where different skill sets are celebrated, is what truly sets AtkinsRéalis apart. As a young woman of color, I've found strong support networks and allies within the company that champion diversity and inclusion.

My current project at AtkinsRéalis is the Triangle Estate refurbishment in Islington. One of my key roles has been to engage residents through workshops, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs met. Seeing the positive impact we're making in the community is incredibly rewarding and reinforces why I'm proud to be part of AtkinsRéalis.

I studied English Language and Literary Studies at uni. However, I pivoted to a career in data science after interning with a team of data scientists. Inspired, I pursued a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, where I developed a passion for solving complex problems. I joined AtkinsRéalis for its dynamic environment, where I can apply my technical skills to diverse projects, collaborate with talented teams, and contribute to cutting-edge technologies. The opportunity to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application aligns perfectly with my career goals.

Non-engineering graduates are vital to our team. We bring essential skills in business, communication, and project management. As a Data Analyst, I turn complex data into actionable insights, enhancing decision-making and optimizing outcomes. My work, from asset valuation to AI-driven solutions, keeps me motivated and constantly learning. The supportive culture at AtkinsRéalis has provided invaluable mentorship, helping me grow and contribute meaningfully. These experiences have deepened my technical skills, broadened my industry knowledge, and significantly advanced my career.

I joined Project and Programme Services as Graduate Quantity Surveyor in September 2021; during a pandemic when most graduate roles were being withdrawn in the sector. I joined Project and Programme Services with absolutely no industry experience but had completed a Masters Degree in Quantity Surveying as a mature student. Since joining Project and Programme Services I have gained invaluable practical experience on a national framework agreement and have recently been given the QS Lead role with one of the Contractors on the agreement. I was also recently appointed the Wellbeing Champion role on this strategic partnership. I have found myself involved with the Embrace Network, the companies network for the BAME community, taking on the role of events lead.

I have found that the company has supported me as much as I've needed on the Graduate scheme. I joined the Cambridge office and have found my colleagues to be supportive in all crazy ideas such as an office Choir that sang at a local care home. From someone who had no industry experience in any capacity, I can say that the Graduate scheme is definitely developing me into an industry expert. I continue to look forward to the challenges this scheme holds.

Laurienne

I studied an integrated bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, with a study abroad year at the University of Leeds before joining AtkinsRéalis in Sept 2019 as a Graduate Software Engineer. Upon joining AtkinsRéalis, I worked on the Hinkley Point C project where AtkinsRéalis is performing static verification on the reactor protect system to ensure its safety. In my second year of the graduate scheme, I started work on the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) project, based in the UAE.

As a non-engineering graduate, I have felt fully supported in building my software skills and trusted to develop software solutions, present to clients, and lead training early on. Furthermore, throughout my career, AtkinsRéalis has ensured that my career aspirations are considered and given me the opportunity to work on multiple interesting projects.
