Architect – Architectural Finishes

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Architect – Architectural Finishes to oversee and supervise architectural finishing works for a landmark development project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all architectural and interior finishing works are executed in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, quality standards, contractual requirements, and project schedules. Working closely with the Resident Engineer, Construction Manager, design teams, contractors, and specialist suppliers, the Architect – Architectural Finishes will play a critical role in delivering exceptional quality finishes across hospitality, convention center, mixed-use, and large-scale building developments.

Your role

  • Supervise and monitor architectural finishing works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, design intent, and contract requirements.
  • Review and assess architectural shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, method statements, and technical submissions.
  • Inspect installation of architectural finishes including stone cladding, marble, granite, ceramic and porcelain tiles, gypsum works, suspended ceilings, wall finishes, decorative panels, paint systems, glazing, and specialty finishes.
  • Supervise interior fit-out activities including joinery, millwork, furniture integration, decorative metalworks, and bespoke architectural elements.
  • Ensure construction works comply with approved samples, mock-ups, and project quality standards.
  • Coordinate closely with interior designers, architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and specialist contractors to resolve design and construction interface issues.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and quality audits to verify workmanship and compliance with approved standards.
  • Monitor contractor performance and progress against approved project schedules.
  • Verify that all architectural materials delivered to site conform to approved material submissions and project specifications.
  • Review Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, and proposed design modifications.
  • Ensure proper implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures during all architectural finishing activities.
  • Identify defects, non-conformances, and workmanship issues and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings, progress meetings, technical workshops, and client inspections.
  • Monitor façade finishes and architectural interface works to ensure compliance with design requirements.
  • Review architectural testing requirements including façade performance tests, waterproofing tests, acoustic tests, and finish inspections where applicable.
  • Assist in progress verification and certification of completed works.
  • Lead snagging and de-snagging inspections and ensure timely closure of punch-list items.
  • Support testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and project handover activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements during architectural finishing operations.
  • Prepare inspection reports, progress updates, technical assessments, and project documentation.

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of overall professional experience in architectural design, construction, or site supervision.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supervising architectural finishing and fit-out works on major building projects.
  • Proven experience in luxury hotels, resorts, convention centers, mixed-use developments, high-rise developments, commercial buildings, or premium hospitality projects.
  • Experience within Site Supervision Consultancy, PMC, or Engineering Consultancy environments is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural finishing materials, interior fit-out works, and façade systems.
  • Experience reviewing architectural shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and construction details.
  • Familiarity with international building standards, architectural specifications, and quality control procedures.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality and high-end finishing requirements.
  • Experience with façade systems, waterproofing systems, glazing systems, and building envelope details is desirable.
  • Knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, fire and life safety considerations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous experience on major projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
  • Excellent communication, report-writing, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
