Our Manchester architecture studio forms part of a thriving Northwest hub of around 300 professionals working across architecture, engineering and design disciplines. You would be working with Architects, Architectural Technologists, Interior Designers, Structural and Building Services Engineers, Process Engineers, Project Managers and Cost Consultants with a balanced mix of graduates through to senior professionals and directors. Your role
You will join our Architecture team, contributing to large-scale, high-profile UK and international projects. Working closely with architects and designers, you will support the delivery of innovative and sustainable design solutions. As a Part 1 Architectural Assistant, you will assist project teams across a range of RIBA stages, gaining valuable experience within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, curious and eager to learn, with a proactive approach to developing their skills as part of our team. AtkinsRéalis is committed to supporting your professional development, providing a strong foundation for learning and progression at the start of your architectural career.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Assist architects in the development of design concepts, drawings and technical documentation using Revit and Adobe Creative Suite (training provided where required).
- Assist in the preparation of reports, bid documents and design proposals.
- Prepare presentations, diagrams and illustrations to communicate design ideas, and storytelling.
- Assist in ensuring designs comply with relevant statutory, regulatory and planning requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants and internal disciplines to maintain design quality and consistency.
- Contribute to internal and client meetings.
- Contribute to an exciting and dynamic studio culture through proactive involvement delivering our programme of knowledge sharing, personal development, volunteering and social events.

About You
You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and driven Part 1 Graduate with a flexible approach and a strong appetite to learn. You are a thoughtful and creative designer with an emerging portfolio, keen to gain experience across a range of sectors and project scales within a collaborative team.
Skills and Experience
- ARB/RIBA Part 1 qualification.
- Self-motivated, proactive with a strong interest in design, architecture and detail.
- Curious, inquisitive and committed to continuous learning.
- Good interpersonal skills with a friendly, team-oriented approach, supporting colleagues and sharing responsibilities.
- Awareness of UK Building Regulations and planning policy (advantageous).
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
