Chief Resident Engineer - construction

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resident Engineer to support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.Acting as the key link between engineering and construction,you will play an essential role in technical coordination,quality assurance,regulatory compliance,and the resolution of technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.

As part of a multidisciplinary team,you will contribute to the successful execution of major projects by ensuring seamless integration between engineering teams,construction teams,contractors,and project stakeholders.

Your Role

  • Represent the engineering team on-site and coordinate technical communications among various project stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to construction teams on the interpretation of drawings,specifications,standards,codes,and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate the processing of Requests for Information (RFIs),non-conformance reports,and deviation requests.
  • Monitor the technical aspects of construction activities,shop drawings,technical data sheets,and supplier-submitted documentation.
  • Support quality control activities and ensure compliance of construction work and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities and assist with permits,approvals,and final acceptance processes.
  • Participate in mechanical completion activities,as-built and final drawing management,and the resolution of technical issues in the field.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10years of experience,preferably in an industrial environment (an asset).
  • Minimum of 5years of experience on medium-to large-scale construction sites.
  • Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Functional knowledge of English (an asset).

* This position requires knowledge of English,as you will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will collaborate with colleagues located outside Quebec.
