Engineering Co-op Student (Fall 2026)

Overview

The Roling Stock team is looking for a student available for 3-4 months this fall. This role is for students who are interested in being part of our railway project. You get the opportunity to learn from our engineers.

Your role

  • Witness testing of train by contractor anytime the test is scheduled in the 24/7 window.
  • Assist engineers with daily tasks like: Preparing and updating engineering procedures, writing test reports and inspection reports, performing basic engineering calculations, maintaining technical records and documentation.
  • Support field inspection, data collection
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project teams during testing

About you

  • Currently enrolled in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Program
  • Competent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Observant, attention to details, conciensus, ethical, efficient.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Be available to support testing activities whenever they are scheduled (Days, Nights, Weekends, Statutory Holiday, potential shiftwork)
  • Has effective team work skill

Expected compensation for this role is between $23-$27/hour (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
