Overview
In response to increasing project demands and development of our business, we are seeking a Field Coordinator (Civil) to join AtkinsRéalis to support our team in Alberta. This position will be based out of our office in Calgary.
Your role
- Conduct construction inspection tasks in accordance with client standards, ensuring thorough documentation and clear communication.
- Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with contract scope, drawings, and specifications; report deviations to the Project Manager.
- Track and record quantities for payment and assist in preparing payment certificates and change orders.
- Review contract documents for constructability, conflicts and ambiguities, coordinate with contractors, administrators, and site inspectors.
- Prepare accurate site documentation, including daily progress reports, logbooks, and quantity calculations, tailored to client requirements.
- Maintain document control and participate in quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes.
- Attend site meetings, record minutes as needed, and support the Project Manager with project deliverables.
- Assist in the preparation of project tender documents.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all applicable health and safety regulations (e.g., OH&S, WHMIS).
- Work under the direct supervision of experienced Project Managers and Senior Engineers.

About you
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in road or civil construction as an Inspector or Coordinator.
- Proficient in MS Office and industry-standard inspection tools; experience with CAD/Civil 3D is an asset.
- Strong understanding of contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, and related provisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with solid analytical skills and construction knowledge.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
- Flexible to work with contractor schedules and capable of working independently.
