Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Junior Cost Engineer to support cost control activities and contribute to the successful delivery of nuclear decommissioning projects. The ideal candidate will bring a foundational understanding of project controls, an interest in developing their skills within a complex project environment, and a willingness to learn about NEC contracts, cost management, and reporting processes.
Your role
- Assist with data collation and the preparation of monthly Applications for Payment, including calculating monthly actual costs and supporting variance analysis against forecast values.
- Support the production and maintenance of the Forecast to Completion, assisting with monitoring performance against the approved project budget.
- Assist with cost reporting to the business, including the preparation of Monthly Dashboard reports under guidance from the Cost Engineer.
- Support the production of monthly business cost reports and assist with submissions via the Cost Management system.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices in line with project and commercial requirements.
- Support the development of cost estimates for new and ongoing projects, including assistance with Change Control documentation and cost impact assessments.
