Mechanical Engineering Analyst

Reporting to the Engineering Manager for Retube Tooling, the Mechanical Engineering Analyst would support Retubing projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing and/or overseeing the conceptual and detailed design, manufacturing, testing, delivery and execution support of tooling systems.

Your role

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using judgement in tooling development, implementing design adaptations and modifications.
  • Supporting procurement, manufacturing, testing and qualification of Retube Tools.
  • Assignments normally include Tooling design and development, investigation of design difficulties, equipment testing, process studies, cost estimating and preparation of technical reports & documentation, reviewing supplier documentation and investigation of difficulties experienced during manufacturing and/or final assembly.
  • Work is focused scope and generally related to one field or discipline of engineering, although a knowledge of related fields of engineering and an appreciation of the impact of the work on other areas may be required.
  • Technical documentation is reviewed and accepted for accuracy, soundness of engineering judgement and feasibility - as well as compliance with QA policies and engineering procedures.
  • Executes assigned work in alignment with project quality, cost and schedule requirements.
  • Assists with the planning of project work so as to manage deliverables, balance workloads and dependencies on other team members.
  • Ensures all project training and qualifications records are up-to-date, and required training and qualifications are completed/updated on time.

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience practical experience, particularly in engineering and tooling design.
  • Eligible for Professional Engineering Designation an asset.
  • Experience working in a nuclear facility licensed in Canada would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.
  • Demonstrated ability to support complex and parallel technical projects.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Willing to travel to and support work at Project sites (short and/or long-term assignments).
