Overview

We are looking for a Hydrotechnical Engineer to join a Canadian-wide team dedicated to hydrology, geomorphology and coastal studies, for water resources, river engineering, hydrotechnical modelling, stormwater management and environmental projects. As such, you will be involved in a multidisciplinary team in the realization of projects ranging from feasibility studies to construction.

Your role

The selected person will have to carry out, work in a team and/or supervise various types of studies in the fields of hydraulics and hydrology, such as:

  • Hydrological analyses including watershed modelling, peak flow estimation, flow-frequency studies, PMP/PMF evaluations, climate-change scenarios, and statistical hydrology.
  • Climate-change hydrology and uncertainty analysis.
  • Hydrodynamic analyses with 1D, 2D and 3D simulation tools.
  • Stormwater management planning and design for municipal, industrial, and infrastructure projects
  • Review design of hydraulic structures: culverts, bridges, riprap and gabion systems, diversion ditches, spillways, natural channel realignments, shoreline protection, and erosion control systems.

The selected person could also be called to:

  • Write and review bid documents.
  • Act as a project manager on single-discipline projects.

About you

  • Bachelor'S or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, Hydrotechnical Engineering, or Geosciences. Registered P.Eng (or eligible within 1 year).
  • Advanced training in hydraulics, hydrology, or geomorphology considered an asset
  • 10+ years of experience as a hydrotechnical or water resources Engineer.
  • Knowledge of hydrology / hydraulics software (RAVEN, HEC-HMS, HEC‑RAS; PCSWMM, HY‑8)
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Additional information

Expected compensation for this role is between $100,200 - $137,700 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
