Offshore Structures Engineer

Bangalore, Karnātaka, India

Overview

We are seeking a Graduate Offshore Structural Engineer to join our Offshore Engineering Team based in the Bangalore Global Technical Centre (GTCI). This individual will play a key role in the technical delivery of complex offshore engineering work packages especially related to offshore Wind turbine generators (WTGs). The Individual shall have Strong Analytical and Technical knowledge with shall do attitude. Any earlier experience in offshore industry is added advantage.

The successful candidate will bring a strong structural/marine background, particularly in the design and analysis of floating and fixed marine/offshore structures.

This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of structural engineering, and offshore renewable energy, providing leadership in multi-disciplinary teams and contributing to AtkinsRéalis' continued growth in the offshore sector.

Your role

  • Support Structural engineering team in technical aspects of offshore engineering projects, with a strong focus on wind turbine generator principles applied to both fixed and floating offshore structures.
  • Perform detail structural analysis and design report using automation for offshore wind.
  • Knowledge and using advanced tools such as SESAM Genie, DNV Bladed, SACS and ANSYS.
  • Knowledge and exposure in international codes such as DNV, API, ISO, AISC, NORSOK etc.,
  • Develop efficient and innovative design in manual calculation and strong technical writing.
  • Willing to support pro-actively to team for efficient delivery of project.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications, with a strong emphasis on engineering rigor and verification.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers to ensure integrated system performance.
  • Learn and support knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Engage with stakeholders through clear and confident communication.
  • Travel to site locations or partner offices for short-term assignments as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with international clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong project management and commercial acumen, including negotiation, budgeting, and planning.
  • Proven leadership and abilities with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel overseas/site when required.

About you

  • Minimum 0-3 years of relevant offshore engineering design experience with a strong wind turbine generator component.
  • Strong background in oil & gas structures, including fixed platforms, jackets with demonstrated application.
  • Proven track record for good interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural engineering, or Offshore Structural Engineering – must.
  • Master's Degree or PhD in Ocean Engineering, Offshore Structures, or a related discipline with significant professional experience in marine or offshore structural design within a consultancy or EPCI contractor environment.
