Overview
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our Environmental Permitting & Management (EP&M) Team. You will support a wide variety of energy and infrastructure planning, permitting, environmental assessment and management projects, particularly in the energy and transportation sectors. The ideal candidate must have strong work experience with environmental standards and regulations in relation to environmental assessments, studies and permitting, be motivated and detail‑oriented, with demonstrable experience in Canada. This senior‑level career role is for our office location in Calgary, Alberta.
Your role
- Lead, coordinate and deliver all aspects related to environmental planning, permitting, assessment and compliance activities, particularly for the transportation and energy sectors, working as part of a wider delivery team.
- Coordinate and guide efforts to obtain and comply with approvals, permits, ad applications for projects from regulatory agencies (municipal, provincial and federal).
- Act as a Project Manager/Deputy Project Manager responsible for the development and management of scope, budget, schedule, and effective quality oversight.
- Provide client and stakeholder engagement with government agencies, Indigenous communities and interest groups, through presentations, workshops and publications as this will be key to the success of your projects.
- Independently coordinate and manage external subcontractors.
- Effectively delegate and coordinate tasks and activities with staff, providing technical and supervisory guidance to other team on assigned tasks, as well as mentoring and guidance to support career development, ensuring our high technical quality and standards are upheld.
- You will be working as a positive team contributor and leader, and be highly motivated and proactive, with a confident and professional manner as you utilize your ability to think independently, critically and strategically, with excellent written, analytical and presentational skills.
- As a senior member of the team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the overall strategic development of EP&M, including technical excellence, growth, profitability and supporting our business development into new services, clients and geographies.
- This includes preparations and coordination of proposals, project management, and client maintenance and development opportunity roles.
