Trainee Structural Designer

Bangalore, Karnātaka, India

Overview

A Senior Structural Designer supports engineers by creating accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for concrete and steel structures, generating material take-offs, and ensuring designs meet specifications, typically requiring 8+ years of experience and strong skills in tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or SmartPlant 3D. The person in this position will work closely with Structural Engineers in a multi-discipline environment to manage design responsibilities and to resolve design related issues associated with the project.

Your role

  • Produce 3D models in Revit or Advanced Steel or Smart plant 3D. Generate 2D drawings from 3D model.
  • Prepare the 2D drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Develop the 2D drawings of structure/foundation plans, sections, elevations as per engineer design sketches. Develop the details as per engineer design.
  • Prepare the material take-off from 3D models and/or drawings.
  • Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts.
  • Other duties as applicable.

About you

  • College certification or BS (preferred but not required) in Civil Engineering specialized on structural engineering.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of design and drafting experience in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in 2D and 3D designs for concrete foundation, concrete structure, steel structure with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or Smartplant 3D.
  • Excellent communication skills in French, ability to maintain confidential information critical.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboration with other disciplines.
