Consultant - Strategy & Advisory

Overview

Our Strategic Advisory team requires a qualified and experienced consultant to join us in the Middle East. The successful candidate will have proven experience in Strategy and Management Consulting services on large-scale projects and ideally in KSA, UAE and the wider Middle East region. The role will require experience in strategy and management consulting and exposure to sectors such as real estate, Transport, master planning and infrastructure development. This is an excellent career development opportunity for the right candidate who is looking to progress their career to the next level, in a fast-paced and exciting field of work. You will work collaboratively with a range of development authorities, key stakeholders in the public and private sectors, and business leadership in the residential, commercial and industrial real estate sectors. The right candidate will be based in Riyadh but will be required to work across the broader Middle East.

Your role

Project delivery

  • Support client engagements through preparation of presentations, reports, and supporting analyses.
  • Participate in client meetings and workshops as required, supporting senior team members with materials and analysis.
  • Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams (e.g. planning, engineering, digital, sustainability) to support integrated advisory outputs.
  • Work within both traditional and agile project environments with a high degree of ambiguity and a track record of high-quality delivery.
  • Support the delivery of management consulting and strategic advisory engagements under the guidance of project managers and senior consultants.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of analytical outputs and written deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development of corporate, portfolio, and asset-level strategies through structured analysis, research, and documentation.
  • Assist in problem structuring, hypothesis development, and synthesis of findings into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Support strategy development initiatives across sectors, including real estate, infrastructure, transport, utilities, and government.

Analytics, Business Modelling and Benchmarking

  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis, including financial analysis, benchmarking, market sizing, and scenario assessment.
  • Assist in developing benchmarking frameworks, data collection templates, and comparative analyses.
  • Support business model assessments and benchmarking exercises, comparing delivery and operating models, revenue models, cost structures, and operating metrics against regional and international comparators.
  • Support preparation of business cases across different delivery and ownership models (e.g. traditional procurement, PPP), including affordability, value‑for‑money, and risk considerations.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing financial models, dashboards, and analytical outputs using Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Support translation of benchmarking insights into strategic implications for clients.

Market Research & Market Reporting

  • Conduct primary and secondary market research to assess market trends, demand for drivers, competitive landscapes, and regulatory environments across KSA, UAE, and the wider Middle East.
  • Compile and analyze data from multiple sources to support market assessments, feasibility studies, and strategic reviews.
  • Support the preparation of market reports, sector insights, and research notes, ensuring outputs are clear, concise, and well‑structured.
  • Contribute written inputs to internal research, client deliverables, and thought leadership materials.

Practice Development and Support

  • Contribute to proposal development by preparing research inputs, analytical sections, and supporting materials.
  • Support business development activities through market and client research, and opportunity assessments.

About you

Education

  • A Master's degree (e.g. MSc, MA, or MBA) in Strategy, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, Public Policy, or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Finance, Economics or Business, is required.
  • Relevant industry specific certifications and membership to regional and global professional
  • associations is desirable.

Professional Experience / Qualifications

  • Relevant experience: 3-5 years.
  • A combination of experience in strategy and management consulting for the built environment, programme and portfolio management, market research, real estate and financial analysis.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and reporting writing skills in MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Excellent understanding of MS Excel and financial modelling.
  • Exposure to Power BI and project reporting tools is preferrable.
  • Ability to analyze data and deliver insightful practical solutions.

Behavioral Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; capable of presenting detailed subject matter to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders and clients while developing effective teamwork relationships.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, Arabic is preferred.
  • Willing to travel within KSA and the GCC region.
  • Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills and able to review the work of others to ensure quality.
  • Able to prioritize and work effectively under pressure.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other AtkinsRéalis or client office locations.
  • Highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes.
