Overview
AtkinsRéalis is pleased to offer an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for an Automation Technician in our Montreal office.
As a member of our project execution team, you will contribute to requirements gathering, programming, testing, and commissioning of automated solutions.
As part of a growing team, you will have the opportunity to develop and advance within the company.
Your Role
- Assume responsibilities as an intermediate automation technician, coordinating technical activities for projects.
- Communicate, understand, and analyze project requirements with the project team.
- Develop solutions in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform and/or coordinate programming and configuration of automation components (PLC, HMI/SCADA, Batch, Historian, and reporting systems).
- Deliver successful implementations in compliance with client requirements, budget, and schedule.
- Prepare technical documentation, including requirement specifications, design specifications, and test protocols for automation projects.
- Install and commission automated systems at client facilities.
- Provide technical advice and consultation to clients.
- Develop and deliver end-user training.
- Participate in project estimates.
- Support and advise junior resources on technical challenges.
- Contribute to the growth of an organization actively involved in industrial projects.

About You
- College diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA/MES systems.
- Knowledge of various platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Aveva Wonderware, etc.), particularly Siemens Simatic PCS 7 and Rockwell RSLogix 5000 programming.
- Proven experience in connectivity and digitalization.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other database technologies.
- Programming skills in one or more languages (Java, C#, Python, etc.) is an asset.
- Ability to interact directly with clients, including experience in requirements gathering and on-site commissioning.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Willingness to travel to client sites.
