Overview

We are seeking a Team Lead – Water & Wastewater to provide technical leadership and mentorship within our growing water practice. This permanent, full-time position is based in Toronto or Vancouver and will play a key role in supporting projects and team development across Ontario and Western Canada, aligned with AtkinsRéalis national water market strategy.
You will join an inclusive, collaborative consulting environment where complex and impactful water projects are delivered for industrial and public-sector clients.
Your role
As Team Lead, you will be responsible for both technical oversight and people leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions while growing the next generation of water professionals.
Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
- Lead and oversee water and wastewater infrastructure engineering.
- Act as a technical authority within the consulting environment and provide senior technical input on pumping stations, tanks, reservoirs, water treatment and biosolids management.
Team Supervision & Growth
- Lead, mentor, and support resource planning, workload management, and skills development to strengthen regional and national water teams.
- Contribute to talent development aligned with long-term workforce needs supporting Ontario and Western Canada water infrastructure programs.
Strategic & Business Support
- Support project management activities to ensure deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Participate in proposal development, technical write-ups, and workload planning for water infrastructure projects.

About you
You are a highly experienced consulting engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or EGBC.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering within a consulting firm environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in pumping systems, treatment technologies, and municipal water/wastewater infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario and/or British Colombia municipal and provincial design standards.
- Proven ability to technically lead projects and guide teams through complex engineering challenges.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $120,000 - $160,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
