Overview
AtkinsRéalis is a global engineering firm based in Canada that delivers complex infrastructure projects, including waterfront and marine structures such as ports, terminals, and shoreline protection. They are hiring a Junior Marine Structural Designer, an entry-level role for early-career individuals interested in structural design and drafting within marine infrastructure.
In this position, you will collaborate with engineers and designers to support project delivery while building hands-on experience. The role focuses on developing core skills in technical drafting, coordination, and practical design support for marine structures.
Your Role
Assist in preparing structural drawings and models using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
Support the development of structural details for concrete and steel marine infrastructure.
Help with basic calculations, markups, and design updates to support engineering work.
Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines (geotechnical, coastal) to incorporate design inputs.
Assist in preparing and organizing design packages and project documentation.
Support quantity take‑offs and drawing revisions during design development.
Participate in internal design reviews and incorporate feedback into drawings and deliverables.

About You
Recent graduate or diploma holder in Civil Engineering Technology (or related) with an interest in structural design and marine/ports infrastructure
Proficient in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit or other modeling tools
Comfortable working with engineering drawings, markups, and technical details
Detail‑oriented, well organized, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
Eager to learn and grow technical skills in a collaborative team environment
Exposure to structural concepts (steel, concrete) through coursework or internships is an asset
Basic understanding of construction documentation and strong interest in how designs are built and perform in real-world conditions

Expected compensation for this role is between $52,800 - $70,400 annually. (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
