Overview
At AtkinsRéalis, we are seeking an experienced Project Director (Roads) with a strong background in road infrastructure. This role requires a forward-thinking leader with over 20 years of experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams on complex construction projects.
Your role
Lead, plan, and direct multidisciplinary teams in the successful delivery of rail projects.
Manage all aspects of project execution, including safety, quality, schedule, and cost control, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders and clients, enhancing AtkinsRéalis' reputation and identifying new business opportunities.
Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Oversee the coordination and management of large-scale infrastructure projects, focusing on public realm, enabling works, and building assets.
Ensure resource allocation meets current and future project demands, maximizing operational efficiency.
Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety on all construction activities.

About you
Skills Required
Degree-qualified in engineering or a related field (BSc, BEng, BA or equivalent); Chartered status preferred.
20+ years of experience in construction, with at least 7 years in roles similar to this, focused on large roads and hiighways infrastructure projects.
Expertise in managing large-scale, complex construction operations, particularly within the road sector.
Strong communication and reporting skills, capable of engaging with senior executives and managing client expectations.
Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
A deep understanding of construction techniques, project controls, and safety management.
Key Qualities
A strategic thinker with the ability to mobilize teams, plan effectively, and manage both technical and commercial aspects of projects.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
A track record of delivering high-profile, large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the rail sector.
