Revit Civil & Structural Designer

About the Team:
Our team within the Industrial Business specializes in taking on the most significant engineering projects in the Mining & Metallurgy, Chemical, Food, pharma sector, ensuring safe, reliable, low carbon nuclear power generation, and preparations for safe and efficient defueling. We also support other parts of the AtkinsRéalis Nuclear & Power business covering the full life cycle from new build through to deconstruction.

The opportunities we have are varied in size and responsibility levels, from delivering our consultancy services, to working for the client organization delivering their projects and programs.

AtkinsRéalis Global Technology Centre (GT C) is looking to appoint a Revit Designer (Structural/Civil) to join our team. This role will be based at our AtkinsRéalis office in Mumbai, India.

Responsibilities

  • Directly performs work of designers and drafters,this work includes the preparation of 3D model in Revit application also preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed construction drawings using Revit / 2D CAD software like AutoCAD and MicroStation.

  • Civil 3D knowledge is preferred.

  • Proficient in Structural and Civil design and development, Plant design, including concept sketches and other building layouts.

  • Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports

  • Is responsible for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.

  • Reviews drawings and vendor documentation, both within the discipline as well as from other fields, for compliance with project requirements and actively seeks resolution.

  • Issue engineering drawings for Inter Discipline Check (IDC) and coordinate with other engineering disciplines to close any technical issues.

  • Prepare and review inputs required for pre-engineering survey.

  • Proficient in Navisworks review capabilities, as required.

  • Should be able to work independently and handle an area with team of designers/engineers.

  • Interdisciplinary check of all Civil / Structural / Piping / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation drawings

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to lower classification designers.

  • Review project parameters related to Civil and Structural requirements.

Required skills and experience –

  • Engineering Graduate or Engineering Diploma or ITI with experience between 3 to 7 Years mainly for Mining & Metallurgy, Chemical and Petrochemicals multidisciplinary of medium and large size projects.

  • Thorough awareness of international codes and standards used for Structural and Civil design in the industry.

  • Shall be Capable of Producing Revit Model Independently in coordination with other disciplines.

  • Maintain suitable records of correspondence and work completed for reference and auditing purposes.

  • Able to present / represent their technical work.

  • Working knowledge of standard codes and EDMS (Electronic Data Management System).

  • Familiar with planning, budgeting, and scheduling of basic drafting tasks in designated disciplines.

  • Shows flexibility in work tasks and locations.

  • An effective and reliable team member able to apply knowledge gained.

  • Responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks to time and cost.

  • Ensuring that drawings issued are in accordance with the agreed standards as required by the UK / ME region.

Desirable skills and experience –

  • Must be an advanced user of Revit & Its equivalent tools for Plant Design with capabilities to federate individual discipline models,maintain and run clash related activities for discipline models.

  • Hands on experience with Civil 3D would be preferred.

  • Must be able to use Navisworks to generate clash results, manage clash resolution, redline BIM Models, capture viewpoints and cascade reports to discipline teams.

  • Preparation of reports such as feasibility studies, method statements, specifications, design reports, schedules, construction drawings and bills of quantities.

  • You will act with integrity and professionalism, gaining the trust of colleagues and setting an example to junior staff.
