Overview
We are seeking a Senior Director - Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Energy, to join our team in Oak Ridge, TN.
Your role
Manages all international licensing activities performed by AtkinsRealis US Nuclear, sub-contractors and affiliates on advanced nuclear and engineering projects as assigned.
Manages assigned portions of licensing project budget.
This role is a key interface with the AtkinsRealis Executive Leadership and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Provides direction and oversight of delivery of licensing services and deliverables for Commercial Nuclear Services portfolio in accordance with quality, cost and schedule goals.
Responsible for approving technical documents and deliverables for projects, or phases of projects.
Plans and executes work consistently with quality, cost and schedule requirements.
Removes barriers that would impact deliverables to meet project requirements and priorities, working with the assigned staff to find solutions and optimizations.
Provides senior level advice as appropriate subject matter expert to executive leadership and clients.
Participates in the preparation of commercial proposals and approving the technical content of proposals under their direction related to advanced nuclear projects.
Forecasts resource demands for the assigned work scope.
Responsible for technical integration and interface control both within the project across the various disciplines involved, and with the client.
Ensure qualified and appropriate staff are working on the project and are assigned work within their experience and skill set.
Provides coaching to team members and performance feedback to the Project Director during their assignment to the project.
Responsible for technical deliverables budget, schedule and quality.
Ensure that the final deliverables meet customer requirements specified in the contract and overall alignment with nuclear code and standards.
Reviews and approves key technical documentation for projects, or phases of projects.
Monitors the technical quality of submittals to the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Responsible for identifying and proposing improvements in the areas of the project – both proactively and in response to customer requirements.
Ensures security access requirements including need to know are implemented on a project.
Interfaces with Executive Leadership, Project Director, NSSS Vendor, Design Builder, Construction Manager, and Site Engineering Manager for all licensing matters in project, or phase of the project, as applicable.
Liaise with the Project Directors regarding the technical quality of subcontracted engineering services.
Liaise with internal and external client engineering organization at the behest of the Project Director regarding technical matters.

About you
Bachelor's degree required in Engineering.
Minimum of 15 years industry related experience.
Minimum of 10 years' experience supporting commercial nuclear projects.
Minimum of 10 years in a similar leadership position.
Senior Leadership role in licensing at a commercial nuclear operating facility.
Extensive knowledge of NRC Regulations.
Self-starter who can work in a team environment with minimal direction and supervision.
Applies experience and judgment with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
Proven ability to successfully implement planning, scheduling and tracking initiatives.
Broad understanding of the challenges of building and maintaining strong multidiscipline teams and an associated drive to improve both team capabilities and tools to achieve their goals.
Professional Engineering (PE) License.
Senior Reactor Operator License or Certification.
Project Management preferred.
Commercial Background preferred.
Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.

Additional information
Expected compensation range is between $149,000 - $249,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
