Taking ownership of a complex project  

One of the first major projects Bajarang worked on was a multidisciplinary infrastructure project in Texas, involving roadway improvements and utility systems. The project was transitioned to the Global Technology Centre (GTC) team after some initial challenges. For Bajarang and his team, it was an opportunity to take ownership and create a stronger solution. "The project required us to review multiple sources of information and bring everything together into a coordinated design," says Bajarang.
His work involved reviewing roadway geometry, utility data, trench information, and field conditions, while developing a high‑accuracy 3D pressure network model. He also contributed to Existing Conditions and Demolition Plans and coordinated Plan and Profile drawings to meet project requirements and standards.

Solving challenges through collaboration 

When the project was handed over, the team encountered inconsistent utility information, design misalignments, and conflicts between proposed works and field conditions. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, Bajarang helped identify risks, establish corrective workflows, and develop
an updated scope and budget. By integrating multiple data sources into a single 3D environment and following a structured QA/QC process, the team resolved legacy issues and significantly improved project coordination. The result was a highly accurate design that restored stakeholder confidence and strengthened project delivery. "The support and collaboration from my team played a huge role in achieving this outcome," he reflects.

Turning ideas into innovation 

Beyond project delivery, Bajarang is passionate about improving how work gets done.  During a
highway drainage project, the team identified a repetitive process related to gully placement.
Even minor alignment changes required engineers to manually recalculate coordinates and update designs, impacting efficiency and timelines. Recognizing an opportunity to innovate, the team explored automation. Within just 20 days, they developed a solution that automated much of the workflow by extracting Civil 3D coordinates and generating gully locations based on design parameters. The team
later adopted Dynamo for Civil 3D, creating a scalable solution that reduced manual effort, minimized errors, improved responsiveness to design changes, and enhanced project quality. What started as a small challenge became an innovation that continues to improve efficiency and accuracy across
projects, says Bajarang.
