AtkinsRéalis are looking for an Associate Technical Director to join our growing pavement consultancy team. Our team is involved in a wide range of projects around the world, designing highways, airports, ports and industrial pavements, and in a variety of research projects developing new materials and technologies to improve design life and sustainability. Our clients include National Highways, Transport Scotland, Welsh Government, local authorities and airport/port operators across the UK. You will be working with the team on all kinds of challenging design and research projects that are creating safer, sustainable and cost-effective solutions for our clients. The primary focus of the role will be the leading the technical delivery of a range of pavement engineering design and research related projects. The role will require the successful applicant to lead projects, therefore proven skills, and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently will be required.
Your role
Leading a variety of consultancy projects and work packages in the field of pavement engineering.
Ensuring project deliverables are prepared on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Enhancing client and industry relationships with both number of public and private stakeholders.
Promote pavement and asset management within AtkinsRéalis.
Developing the talent within the team through coaching and mentoring and supporting their technical career development aspirations.
Championing company processes and policies, and ensuring adherence to safety, welfare, quality and environmental requirements.

About you
Qualification:
Degree in Civil Engineering or similar disciplines.
Certified Pavement Engineer.
Requirements:
Proven technical leadership within the field of pavement engineering.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of pavement design principles (Flexible, Rigid and Composite Pavements).
Extensive knowledge and understanding of earthworks and pavement materials (Concrete, Asphalt and Hydraulically Bound Materials).
Experience in the use of UK and/or international standards for the design of pavements for highway, airfield, port, and other applications.
Experience in specification, execution, analysis, and interpretation of a comprehensive range of geotechnical and pavement investigation and evaluation techniques.
Experience in managing and delivering projects and meeting client expectations.
Ability to work in a client facing environment with good communication skills.
