Overview

The Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytics Lead is a key position within the Project Integration Management Systems (PIMS) team and is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining the data and reports strategy, approach, and toolsets for the Engineering Services / Major Projects Sector within AtkinsRéalis.

This role partners closely with key project stakeholders, senior leadership, and IT teams. The BI & nalytics Lead is accountable for the design, development, and implementation of data models and dashboards containing business intelligence and key performance indicators (KPIs) that support effective and informed management decision-making.

The role also ensures the standardization of data extract, transfer, and load (ETL) processes, as well as the development and ongoing maintenance of a data warehouse supporting both operational and historical reporting.

Your role

  • Understand the customer landscape and identify common analytical needs across the organisation.

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across AtkinsRéalis to translate business needs into a robust, transparent analytics platform and solution roadmap.

  • Research emerging technologies and lead innovation across the analytics platform.

  • Collect and document business and technical requirements, translating customer needs into scalable BI solutions.

  • Communicate effectively with partners, vendors, and technology teams to track, resolve issues, and improve service levels.

  • Take a lead role in solution and architecture design discussions, challenging technology assumptions where appropriate.

  • Develop, support, and maintain business metrics and KPIs using Power BI, SQL, Power Automate, and Power Apps.

  • Design and build analytics solutions using the corporate BI & Analytics technology stack.

  • Apply working knowledge of Python for data analysis, automation, or advanced analytics use cases.

  • Coordinate and follow up on system migrations and Azure cloud services.

  • Design rapid prototypes or models using Excel or visualization tools to facilitate discussions with stakeholders and clearly capture functional requirements.

  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets from multiple platforms and data formats.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, analysing, and maintaining data warehousing and BI reporting solutions.

  • JD Edwards or ERP system experience is considered an asset.

  • Experience leading a team or coordinating technical and analytical resources.

  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.

  • You will have demonstrable experience working with clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective analytics solutions that address key challenges. You possess excellent communication skills and the ability to understand business needs, issues, and operating environments.

  • Strong expertise in reporting tools and databases (e.g. SQL), including query writing, ETL development, data modelling, charting, and report development.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, structure, and analyse business requirements.

  • In-depth technical understanding of relational database technologies.

  • You are capable of building strong working relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and obtaining confidence and buy-in for proposed solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, contribute effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate the ability to innovate while delivering solutions within complex technical and business constraints.

  • Bilingual French/English.*

  • Strong business acumen (Engineering & Construction industry experience is an asset).

  • Strong technical background (Power BI, SQL, Azure, Python, Excel, Visio).

  • Analytical, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and active listening.

  • Customer-focused mindset.

**This position requires knowledge of another language besides French, namely English, as the work produced is intended for audiences located elsewhere in Canada, internationally, or in another region of the world.
