BIM Engineer II _ (Infra. Wet Utilities)

Overview

The BIM Engineer will support the delivery of infrastructure utility projects with a primary focus on wet utilities, including gravity and pressure networks. The role involves developing BIM/CAD models, drawings, and technical deliverables while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices. Experience in dry utilities is considered an added advantage.

Your role

  • Support the delivery of infrastructure utility projects as part of the Atkins Middle East delivery team.
  • Coordinate with Lead Project Offices (LPOs), design engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Develop and maintain BIM models, drawings, and design documentation for wet utility infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare and check utility drawings, including layouts, long sections, schedules, profiles, and standard details.
  • Create and manage Civil 3D alignments, corridors, feature lines, surfaces, and pipe networks.
  • Produce plan and profile drawings for gravity and pressure utility networks.
  • Review and implement engineering markups into project drawings and models.
  • Assist in utility clash detection and resolution using Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with project BIM/CAD standards, client requirements, and quality procedures.
  • Coordinate effectively with subconsultants, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support project delivery in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

About you

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM modeling and infrastructure utility design.
  • Experience in wet utilities design and drafting, including gravity and pressure networks.
  • Experience in dry utilities design and coordination is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D with 5-7 years of practical experience.
  • Strong experience in wet utility infrastructure modeling and detailing.
  • Ability to create and manage alignments, corridors, surfaces, feature lines, and utility networks in Civil 3D.
  • Experience in preparing utility layouts, profiles, schedules, and construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection using Navisworks and Revit.
  • Understanding of relevant BIM and CAD standards and infrastructure design practices.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse and multicultural environments.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality project delivery.
