BIM Modeller - Dry utilities ( Infrastructure / Civil 3D )

Overview

BIM Designer - Dry utilities Infrastructure - Atkinsrealis Business is hiring an experienced Lead Designer in Civil 3D for our Middle East delivery team. The candidate will be carrying out a mix of functions that span from internal process improvements to supporting project delivery. The successful candidate should be a people, process, tool (in that order) focused individual whose job it will be to ensure our project delivery teams adhere to common standards and the latest design delivery techniques. The candidate will also actively support project teams on the proposal and project delivery tasks.

Your role

  • To work as part of Atkinsrealis' BIM/CAD team under the Middle East delivery Team.

  • Delivering CAD/BIM work with minimal supervision

  • To assist in delivering a range of projects relating to infrastructure utility design and planning.

  • To train new staff in the team.

  • Take on new challenges and initiatives.

  • Develop project deliverables, particularly drawings and reports in accordance with the client's scope, budget, and quality requirements.

  • Knowledge of BIM

  • Exposure to Middle East, standards.

  • Preparation of Dry utility layouts using BIM/CAD.

  • Preparation of Single Line diagram, Standard drawings.

  • Responsible for fully coordinated 3D modeling of utility systems using Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Revit Knowledge of BIM standards and Revit Family Creations (Added Advantage).

  • Coordination of CAD and BIM model input to multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Preparation and presentation of progress for discussion at meetings.

About you

Education and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Civil Engineering or equivalent technical discipline plus 6-15 years of experience in progressive drafting and design experience.

Special Skills

  • 3 to 10 years of AutoCAD, Civils3D, Revit (Added advantage), and detailing experience involving work associated with Infrastructure Dry Utilities projects.

  • Extensive experience in detailing Dry infrastructure utilities.

  • Coordinate with sub-consultants and Design Engineers.

  • Prepare and manage engineering plans and project documents.

  • Evaluate engineering alternatives and resolve technical issues.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner.

  • Research and follow jurisdictional requirements unique to each project.

  • Review and draft rough sketches, drawings, etc. as provided by the Function and/or BIM Manager.

  • Follow BIM and CAD standards.

  • Create, edit, and label alignments, Civil 3D parcels, and corridors.

  • Create, use, and edit Civil 3D labels.

  • Create feature lines and surfaces.

  • Manage, data reference, label, and interact with a Civil 3D surface.

  • Use Civil 3D to design plans and profiles of utilities, including using and creating pipe networks, editing and changing parts and styles, manhole sizing/spacing and minimum cover.

  • Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build rapport with customers.

  • Ability to resolve clash between other Utilities.

  • Problem-solving abilities.

  • Creative thinker with a can-do attitude.

  • Confident and professional manner.

  • Work independently and take proactive initiative.

  • Self-motivated development.

  • Experience in using written and spoken English within a business environment.

  • Shows flexibility in work tasks and locations.

  • Responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks to time and cost.

Desired Requirements

Highly desirable experience includes engineering application experience, specifically

  • Expertise in 3D modelling, reality capture, 4D and 5D simulations, Digital Twin and data integrations.

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of authoring tools (i.e. Bentley, Esri, Revit).

  • Proficient in additional Autodesk BIM Software: Revit, Navisworks, ReCap, and InfraWorks.

  • Experience implementing and administrating common data environments: Bentley ProjectWise, MS Teams, SharePoint, BIM360.
