Overview
AtkinsRéalis is in hiring a Cost Controller to join our growing team based in Calgary, Alberta. The Cost Controller will be part of a high-performing project team that will be based in our downtown Calgary office.
Your role
- Develop and maintain project cost control systems and procedures.
- Track and analyze project expenditures against budget and forecast.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, variance analyses, and financial dashboards.
- Collaborate with project managers and discipline leads to update forecasts and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate change orders and their financial impact.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Support procurement and contract management teams with cost-related insights.
- Participate in project meetings to provide financial guidance and updates.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing invoices, accruals, and cash flow projections.
- Maintain accurate records of project budgets, actuals, and forecasts.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cost control or project accounting, preferably in infrastructure or transit projects.
- Strong understanding of project controls, cost allocation, and financial risk management.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, Primavera, Power BI).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
