Overview

The Senior Estimator - Building Work is responsible for leading the preparation of accurate, competitive, and strategic cost estimates for rail infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on station, building, and architectural scopes. This role combines expertise in heavy civil and rail works with detailed knowledge of vertical construction, finishes, and building systems, supporting the full spectrum of project delivery. Responsibilities include analyzing drawings and specifications, developing pricing strategies, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting bid submissions for major, multidisciplinary projects.

Your role

Prepare detailed construction cost estimates for:

  • Station works (above- and below-grade structures, platforms, ancillary buildings).

  • Architectural scope (finishes, façades, roofing, interior fit-out, public realm elements).

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, BIM models, and specifications, including architectural and building components.

  • Develop comprehensive unit rates for labour, equipment, and materials across both civil and building scopesAnalyze historical cost data, benchmarks, and market conditions for both infrastructure and vertical construction.

  • Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure scope completeness and constructability.

  • Identify scope gaps, interfaces, and risks between civil, systems, and building elements.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • 8–12+ years of estimating experience in:

    • Rail/transit infrastructure projects (LRT, metro, stations).

    • Comctiomercial, institutional, or complex building construction.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Station construction, architectural finishes, and building systems (MEP interfaces).

    • Rail and civil infrastructure construction practices.

    • Integration of structural, civil, and architectural scopes within transit projects.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range of $105 000- $145 000. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
