Seoul, South Korea

Overview

The CSA Engineering Head will be responsible for leading the Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) engineering function for complex industrial, advanced technology, and energy projects in South Korea. Working closely with Project Managers, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, subcontractors, and global AtkinsRéalis experts, this role will oversee the planning, coordination, quality, and delivery of CSA engineering outputs to ensure safe, compliant, practical, and fully integrated project execution.

With a strong focus on Advanced Technology (semiconductors, data centers, secondary batteries, advanced materials), Renewable Energy and Energy Transition (solar, onshore/offshore wind, energy storage systems, green hydrogen, battery value chain projects), and process-driven industrial sectors including pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, food, agrifood, chemical, fine chemical, and broader industrial processing facilities, the CSA Engineering Head will lead and coordinate CSA activities across all project phases—from concept and master planning through basic and detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and project close-out.

Your role

  • Lead and manage CSA engineering design, coordination, and delivery in accordance with project scope, client requirements, applicable codes, standards, and schedule commitments.
  • Provide technical leadership for civil, structural, and architectural design activities, including site development, foundations, underground utilities interface, steel and concrete structures, building envelope, interior layouts, and architectural finishes.
  • Establish and maintain CSA design criteria, basis of design, material specifications, design calculations, and discipline deliverables for concept, basic, and detailed engineering phases.
  • Coordinate interfaces with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and project controls teams to ensure constructability, space allocation, utility integration, and overall design consistency.
  • Direct and review CSA engineering deliverables prepared by internal teams, external design partners, and subcontractors, ensuring quality, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Support site due diligence, regulatory and permitting reviews, and interpretation of Korean and international building codes, fire and life safety requirements, and relevant industrial facility standards.
  • Participate in design reviews, model reviews, constructability workshops, and risk assessments, incorporating outcomes into finalized CSA designs and execution strategies.
  • Provide CSA engineering support during procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning, including technical query resolution, drawing review, field coordination, and change management.
  • Mentor and guide CSA engineers and designers, promote best practices, and strengthen collaboration across local and global teams.
  • Maintain high standards for safety, quality, compliance, and documentation while driving timely and efficient delivery of CSA engineering outputs.
