Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HSE Coordinator to support the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities across the Quebec and Maritimes region. Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, you will play a vital role in coordinating HSE initiatives, supporting operational teams, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regional regulations. An ideal position for a hands-on professional looking to make a direct impact on workplace safety and environmental practices.

Your role

  • Coordinate the implementation of HSE programs, policies, and procedures to support regional operations.
  • Assist poject teams in maintaining compliance with HSE regulations, standards, and company requirements.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor HSE performance, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Support the investigation of incidents and near misses, assisting in root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Leverage digital tools and platforms (e.g., SharePoint, EcoOnline) to manage HSE documentation, workflows, and communications.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and openness to emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance HSE processes and data analysis.
  • Participate in regional HSE audits, inspections, and follow-ups on action plans to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide HSE training and awareness sessions to employees and contractors, fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Collaborate with project and operational teams to identify and mitigate risks, promoting proactive HSE practices.
  • Support the preparation of HSE performance reports, highlighting trends and recommending areas for improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between the regional HSE manager and the functional/project teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment of objectives.

About you

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in, engineering, construction or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of regional HSE regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse teams.
  • Proficiency with HSE management systems, digital collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint), and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required.
  • Certification in health and safety (e.g., ASP Construction, CRST, or equivalent) is an advantage.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $100,200 - $137,700 annually) (Only Applicable to Ontario and British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
